Obituary of Alec Stephen Mergenthaler

Alec Stephen Mergenthaler, 32years young, of Beech Hill Circle, Lake Placid, NY, passed suddenly in New York City from cardiac arrest, Monday, December 12, 2016 at Mount Sinai Beth Israel Medical Center. Alec was born April 25, 1984 in Suffern, NY. He is the son of Stephen and Karen Lajeskie Mergenthaler. At the time of his death, he was employed by Horizon Media, New York City, NY as Creative Director. He was a graduate of Lake Placid High School, NYU, and Miami Ad School. Alec was a creative, passionate, loving, supportive, intelligent soul that explored so many out of the box pathways that constantly challenged and amazed all who crossed his path. His ability to create healing among those that were suffering and stressed was always a selfless comprehensive understanding of what to do and how to make an impact. Alec put himself second to all, and loved to live every moment to the fullest. He is Son, our Brother, my Friend, and my Hero, and our shining light. He is survived by his father Stephen and mother Karen Mergenthaler of Lake Placid, NY. One sister, Christie Mergenthaler; his brother Tobin and his wife Sheri and their daughter Ali Rae Mergenthaler; his girlfriend, Kelsey Shaver; 3 grandparents, 3 uncles, 5 aunts and 9 cousins. Calling hours will be held at the M. B. Clark, Inc. Funeral Home in Lake Placid, NY, on Monday, December 19th from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM. A Celebration of Life Service will be help at the Lake Placid Baptist Church on Saranac Avenue on Tuesday, December 20th at 2:00 PM.
