Priscilla Garrand passed away secure in her love for her Lord at Meadowbrook Nursing Home on September 14th 2017. She was born at Physicians Hospital of Plattsburgh on August 6th 1927 to Daniel Burt and Ruth (Stickney) Straight. During WW2 she became a Registered Nurse serving in the Army Nurse Corp. She worked in several places including the New York State Hospital for Tuberculosis in Raybrook and in Pediatrics at the Physicians Hospital of Plattsburgh. Priscilla was married on August 10th 1957 to Reginald (Pete) Garrand a New York State Police Investigator and Navy veteran who pre-deceased her February 12th 1988. They made their home in Lake Placid and later spent winters in Fort Myers Florida. She was a beloved Aunt to her sister Kathryn McCormick and Brother Charles Straight's (March 26th 1930-June 15th 1996) children. She loved to entertain and do needlework and was a member of Adirondack Community Church. She moved to Lake Forrest in Plattsburgh in July 2011 and became a part of that community making many friends. This move also gave her more time to spend with her great and twice great nieces and nephews. There will be a graveside service at North Elba Cemetery in Lake Placid on Monday September 18th at 2 PM. Rev. Ingrid Johnson will officiate. The M. B. Clark, Inc., Funeral Home in Lake Placid, NY is in charge of arrangements.
