Obituary
For
Ruth Adenia Shult
Ruth Adenia (Gunn) Shult of Brandon, FLA, Watertown, NY, Cranberry Lake, NY and Lake Placid, NY passed away Sunday, October 22, 2017 at Adirondack Medical Center after a brief illness.
Ruth was a resident of Elderwood of Uihlein in Lake Placid, NY for the past six years. During her stay she became known as the "Grandma Moses" of Uihlein, revered for her artwork and as a much loved ambassador of cheer, mischief and compassion for her fellow residents and staff.
Ruth was an education secretary for the Watertown City School District for many years alongside her husband Edgar Shult, a guidance counselor for WHS and popular local musician. Edgar predeceased his wife in 2004.
Born in Brandon, FLA in 1922, Ruth attended local schools and business college and was jitterbug champion of Tampa in the USO when she met and wed her beloved Edgar as he served at Davis Island Army Air Force Base during WWII.
Most importantly, Ruth was a perfect mother to her children, Carol Melaragni of Philadelphia, PA and Keith Shult of Livingston Manor, NY and continued her perfection as grandmother to Andrea Lantzy of Greenfield Township, PA, Joshua Best of Carbondale, PA, Corbin Gates-Shult of Potsdam, NY, Keiran Shult and Tristan Shult of Livingston Manor, NY and great grandchildren – Zoe, Amanda, Bryan and little Emily Ruth.
Ruth will forever be remembered by her family and friends as the angel who showed us all how life should be lived by her pure, kind and patient example, as the temperance that quelled the fire of her impetuous family and as the personification of God's love for generations.
