Lake Placid, New York
The one and only Charles Forrest Cleland was born August 20, 1952 in Lewis, NY the son of Forrest and Dorothy (Denton) Cleland, and left this earth on December 9, 2017. He was known to those closest to him as "Uncle Buddy," and was known to all who knew him as a deep philosopher of thought, a mystic of magic, a doctor of dream weaving, a ignitor of vivid storytelling, a die-hard Celtics and Green Bay Packers fan, a masterful pool player, a whimsical adventurer, a soulful listener, a giver of great advice and a man who will surely be missed by many and all who had the privilege of knowing him.
He leaves behind his love of life and passes his legacy of true friendship and brotherhood to his sisters, Christine Reynolds, Maureen Cleland Wood, Stephanie Smith, and Birdie Rodgers as well as his nieces and nephews and all of their friends who were like his children, fellow gypsy spirited travelers and the world a bit of his magic. Rest in Peace, Charley. Charles was predeceased by his brother Howard Smith.
