Obituary of Helen Joyce Hare

Helen Joyce (Peck) Hare, age 82, of Wilmington, NY died Tuesday, December 12, 2017 at her home. Mrs. Hare was born In Wilmington, NY, November 13, 1935 the daughter of Melvin and Blanche (Bowen) Peck. Helen married Bruce B. Hare on Nov 21, 1953 in Wilmington, NY. They had 61 wonderful years, Bruce died Nov 11, 2014. Helens life career was waitressing and caring for her family. She worked in Lake Placid at Lake Placid Drugs as well as many other restaurants. She retired from Devin's Deli in Jay, NY. Her greatest love was caring for her family and friends. She will be missed by those who knew and loved her. She is survived by two daughters, Trixie Whalley and her husband Paul of Wilmington, NY and Stacey Lawrence and her husband Henry of Wilmington, NY; one sister, of Helens who they raised as their own, Virginia Devins and her husband Timothy; one brother, Harold Peck, Sr. and his wife Marilyn; two sisters, Nancy Cornick and Shirley Smith; six grandchildren, Curtis (Keria) Hare, Brandon Whalley, Ryan Lawrence, Cory Lawrence, Brianna Lawrence and AJ Whalley. She is also survived by five great grandchildren Jaden, Aaliyah, Amirah, and Lylah Lawrence and Naveya Hare. Helen considered Wanda (Dean) Joy and Patty (Herbbie) Rock her grandchildren and Bell, Mackate Joshua her great grandchildren and several nieces nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by two brothers, Francis and Chipper Peck and two sisters Betty Shanks and Ruth Terry. Calling hours - Saturday, December 16th, 12:00 pm – 2:00 pm at M. B. Clark, Inc. funeral home in Lake Placid followed by the funeral service at 2:00 pm. Burial will follow in Pleasant View Cemetery.
