Dear Preston Family -My apologies for not being at the celebration of Freda's life. I made an attempt but turned back as the travel conditions were pretty bad early Saturday morning. In the past when I made my trips to Lake Placid for hiking I would stop by Winter St. hoping to have a visit with Red and Freda. The conversation was ALWAYS about Family. She was visibly and openly proud of her clan as she relayed any news about their current status and whereabouts. She was in fact a braggart, and I thoroughly enjoyed listening. Red would patiently wait for a moment when he could get in a comment always supportive of what Freda was saying. I felt like a family member sitting in her sun room, she sure loved that room. I will never forget the time a bunch of O-tech Hockey players came to Lake Placid and were treated and fed like royalty;food ,games, and more food. Thank you Freda for being you,I feel fortunate to have been able to spend time with you. God Bless. Mark Costello

To all of Freda's family. Jim and I send our thoughts and prayers to you at this difficult time.
She was such a wonderful lady. Many fond memories of her when she worked at The Chicken Coop with my parents. Many hours at the Arena for figure skating and knitting skating skirts for Karen and also sweaters for all her children. Her along with my mom and many other wonderful ladies would spend countless hours knitting. I even was just talking the other day about them all knitting outfits for Barbie dolls. I could go on and on about the wonderful memories from days gone by.
May you all find peace and comfort during this difficult time.
Jim and Pat Roy

Karen, Greg, Monk, Chris, Tim and your families,
I am very sorry to hear of your mother's passing. To say that she was the stabilizing force to our neighborhood and to all of us kids who grew up in your back yard would be an understatement. How lucky we all are to have had her there. Know that she and all of you are in my prayers.

God can heal a broken heart, but she has to have all the pieces. Proverbs 23:26
Brooke, give your grandmother all the pieces of your broken heart and she will heal them piece by piece everyday.
