Catherine Mae (Barber) Preston age 81 of 7 Tree Top Lane Lake Placid, NY died peacefully at home Thursday morning March 15, 2018 surrounded by family. She was the daughter of the late George Barber and Fanny (McCarroll) Barber.
Catherine was preceded in death by one son Ralph J. Preston and her husband George "Bubbie " Preston. Catherine was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. Her grandchildren and great grandchildren were the love of her life. She is survived by two daughters, Patricia A. Preston, Betty Jo (George) Fortune, three sons Michael G. Preston and David C. Preston all of Lake Placid and Jason D. Preston of Plattsburgh. Catherine was also blessed with several grandchildren and great grandchildren, as well as many nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held on Monday March 19, 2018 at the Lake Placid Baptist Church, 2253 Saranac Avenue, Lake Placid, New York at 1:00 PM, officiated by Pastor Jim Koenig and Reverend John Yonkovig. Burial will be immediately following at the North Elba Cemetery. Donations may be made to Lake Placid Volunteer Ambulance or High Peaks Hospice in Catherine's memory. The M. B. Clark, Inc. Funeral Home in Lake Placid, NY is in charge of arrangements. Relatives and friends are invited to share a memory or leave condolences at www.mbclarkfuneralhome.com.
