All of the darkness we see or feel around us cannot put out the light of one candle. Jay was a candle to all who knew him or that knew someone he loved. His light will never be gone from the memories of all who cared for him.

My condolences to Shirley, Jimmy, Cheryl and all those dear to Jay. I remember frequent trips over the border with my parents who were good friends of Duke and Shirley.
The two things I remember most about Jay were those bongo drums of his and the night he decided to inform everyone that he was changing his name to Jude. A true character who will be greatly missed by all those around him.

Uncle Jay you will forever be loved and missed ❤️ I know you are up there with Grandpa watching the ball game and feeling no pain and that will bring us all peace. Thank you for all of the memories. Until we meet again.

Jay was my friend and we had a lot of great times in High School and playing Softball together. He was one of the funniest people I knew and we had so many "crazy" things we did. I was very sorry I didn't get to see him last summer and now really, really regret that. I must tell who I've shed some tears about this. On my way home yesterday after work I stopped at Subs & 6 Packs and went on their deck and said "excuse me, will you please join me in raising your glass for my friend Jay who cancer got today", everyone on that deck did and I finished by saying that I will see you again my friend and we will have another beer. My heartfelt condolences, and you know what, the YANKEES will win the World Series for him. My Wife and I will keep you all in our prayers.
