My sincere condolences to all of Dr. Bergamini's family on the loss of an exemplary man; a kind, compassionate and patient physician who went above and beyond for every one of his patients.
I had the pleasure of working with Dr. Bergamini at the once Placid Memorial Hospital from 1979-1988 as a radiologic technologist. He quickly became my favorite doctor there. In 1985 he played the best April Fool joke on me ever....at 4:45 on April Fool's day I received a call from his receptionist to tell me that Dr. Bergamini was sending in a female patient
for a stat IVP to look for a kidney stone.(this was before CT abdomen became the exam of choice) She gave me the patient's name, said the PA on duty would inject the contrast, look at the first films and by then Dr. Bergamini would be in. I waited....Shortly after 5 p.m. an ER patient needed an xray so I called the tech who was on call, Jan Vize, and asked if she'd like me to take the films or did she want to come in and get the hours. She elected to come in. I relayed the info about the patient for the IVP and went on home. At 6:20 Jan called to say that the patient wasn't there yet. Should she wait? Just then it hit me. The patient's name was
Avril Jester. I told Jan the patient wouldn't be showing up . Good one, Dr. Bergamini!!
Another wonderful memory is the day Dr. Bergamini came in beaming with pride to say his first grandchild, a granddaughter had been born.
Linnaea was her name and he was so proud.
He watched my infant daughter one day in the office while I obtained the xrays he'd ordered and sewed on a friend's ear(I recommended Dr. Bergamini for his exceptional suturing abilities) that shows no trace.
I will always be grateful for the opportunity of working with such a wonderful physician.
May you rest in heavenly peace, Dr. Bergamini.
Sincerely,
Danaroo

The Family of Dr. Bergamina,
I had the pleasure of working in the Infirmary at Adirondack Correctional when Dr. Berganini was there. Always a pleasant and cheerful man, a real joy to work with. He loved being a Doctor, often commenting that he was going to work until he was 100. Our Thoughts and Prayers are with all of his family.

May God bless you and your entire family. May He fill you with love and wonderful memories. I have extremely fond memories of Dr. Bergamini blowing me a kiss every time he saw me at the LPCA. He always made a point to acknowledge me with a wink and a smile. The way he made me feel appreciated and special, I will cherish forever. Rest in Peace.

May your legacy continue on in others in the act of service and community support. Your kindness and ability to accept those that were 'different' will be remembered. You have reached the heavenly view with our Lord where you will be able to see your Adirondacks and be joyful. Until we meet again.
