Obituary of Edna A. Barcomb
Edna Alice Barcomb, fondly known as “Fuzzy” and “Grandma Fuzz”, 89, formerly of Rose Avenue, Rouses Point, passed away peacefully on May 9, 2019 in the Clinton County Nursing Home, Plattsburgh, NY with her family by her side. Edna was born in Montreal, Quebec. She married the love of her life, Nelson Barcomb Sr., on October 8, 1949. They moved to Rouses Point and had three sons.
Edna worked as a typist and stenographer. She also worked at Delegar’s in Rouses Point as well as at Barcomb’s Marina for many years. She enjoyed her family and friends, doing jigsaw puzzles, going to church, playing bingo and helping others. She was an avid Yankees fan and loved watching games on TV. She also took great pleasure in watching the girl’s youth softball games in the field behind her home on Rose Avenue.
Edna is survived by her sons, Nelson Jr. (Sabrina), Ernie and Steven (Jo-Anne), her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her parents, John and Edna (Burton) Trower, her husband, Nelson Sr., her brother, Arthur Trower and her sister, Jean Carriere.
Visitation will be on Sunday, May 12, 2019 from 4:00-7:00PM at M. B. Clark Funeral Home, 148 Lake Street, Rouses Point. Funeral Services will be held Monday, May 13, 2019 at St. Patrick’s Church in Rouses Point at 11:00AM with Fr. Clyde Lewis officiating. Interment will follow at St. Patrick’s Cemetery. Memorial may be made to St. Patrick’s Church.
