Obituary for Mrs. Margaret E. Lewis ( June 17, 1929 – July 9, 2019)
Margaret Ella (Strack) Lewis was reunited with her late husband, Calvin C. Lewis, Sr., on July 9, 2019, after a brief stay at Elderwood of Uhlein at Lake Placid. Margaret was the second child born to Leon and Lena Strack. She was blessed to have 6 sisters and 6 brothers. Margaret is predeceased by her twin sister, Marion Graham, and sisters, Joan Strack and Sally Gilmore, along with brothers William, Robert, and Leon Strack, Jr.
Margaret recently celebrated her 90th birthday with family and friends where she did what she loved to do; entertained all of her guests by playing the piano. Margaret lived most of her life in Lake Placid, New York. She began playing the piano at a very young age and continued to play at various establishments in the tri-lakes area throughout her lifetime. Margaret loved playing BINGO and developed many long-lasting friendships because of it. She also loved to bowl and was still an active bowler to the age of 89 in the local ladies' Toppers League!
Margaret is survived by her 6 children: Deborah Cink (Jack) of Itasca, TX, Calvin Lewis, Jr. (Kathy) of Lake Placid, Tom Lewis (Jill) of Prescott, AZ, Marc Lewis of Lake Placid, Jeff Lewis of Lake Placid, and Angela Escobar (Dana) of Colorado Springs, CO. Margaret has 8 grandchildren: Rachel Stanton, Travis Lewis, Nicole Lewis, Trisha Lewis, Michael Lewis, Zachary Smith, Josh Lewis, and Dante Escobar. Margaret was also the proud great grandmother of 11 great grand children. She is also survived by 6 siblings: Shirley Lamoy(Ray), Linda Hill (Donald), Richard Strack (Nancy), Thomas Strack (Hannah), Constance Hill, Francis Strack (Terry), and sister-in-law Cheryl Strack. Margaret also had many nieces, nephews, and cousins she was proud to call family.
