Obituary of Linda Lou Alford
Linda Lou Seaman Alford passed away suddenly in the early afternoon of March 5th 2019 in Payson, Arizona. Linda was born in Dallas, Texas on February 4th 1948 to Edward Fred Seaman and Betty Lou (Hollister) Seaman. She was raised and attended school in Houston, Texas.
She is survived by her husband Malcolm "Mick" Alford of Payson and her son Edward McClure Alford of Phoenix, AZ,step-daughter Amy Liverio of Amsterdam, NY, step-son David Scott Alford of south-Texas, a grandson, Troy Anthony Corrow of Lake Placid, NY, her sister Susan Seiler and her brother Scott Seaman both of San Antonio, TX, four nieces and a nephew all from South Texas.
Linda attended North Texas State University prior to accepting an Administrative secretarial position with a prominent oil and gas firm in Houston. It was through this employment she met and married. The couple soon moved to Lake Placid. NY, Malcolm's native home. She was a bright light and inspiration to the lives she touched, even briefly. She lived the final 35 years of her life restricted to a wheelchair after a diagnosis of Multiple Sclerosis (MS) in the early 1980's. She maintained a spirit, love of life and compassion for others that few find in other human beings. Despite her physical limitation, she helped provide the support for others strickened by MS by example and seeding support groups throughout Northern New York. She passed peacefully surrounded by her husband and son.
A Funeral Service will be held at the Adirondack Community Church in Lake Placid at 11:00 AM on Saturday, October 5th, 2019. Rev. Derek Hansen, Pastor, will officiate. Burial will follow at North Elba Cemetery in Lake Placid, NY.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society. The Alford family also wishes to extend it's deepest gratitude to the M.B. Clark Funeral Home and to the Clark family in particular for all their guidance and Expressions of care.
