Lawrence Colton Praeger 89, passed away on January 4, 2020 at Elderwood of Uihlein at Lake Placid. Larry was born in Far Rockaway, New York to Sarah and Leopold Praeger on March 10, 1930. Larry loved fishing, skiing, classical music, reading, gardening and animals. Larry was a veteran. He served in the United States Army from July 1953 to June 1955. He owned a business in Lake Placid before retiring to Florida. He eventually moved to Stowe, Vermont where he resided for several years with his wife Beatrix before returning to Lake Placid after her passing in 2012. Larry is survived by his first wife, Susanne Praeger of Saranac Lake; his children Lisa Seifried of Clifton Park, NY, Patricia Damp and husband Ray of Lake Placid, and Michael Praeger of Niskayuna, NY; and his grandchildren Ryan and Evan Damp and Scott and Hailee Seifried . The family wishes to extend their gratitude to the caregivers of Elderwood in Lake Placid for their loving and compassionate care, and all the friends, neighbors and often strangers who made life comfortable for Larry during his final months. Your kindness and support were truly a comfort, and very much appreciated. Larry's family will be having a private service at a later date. The M. B.
