Obituary of Raymond Myril Levitt

Ray M Levitt, 87, of Laker Placid, N.Y. passed away peacefully at home on January 23rd. He was born November 2nd 1932, the son of Cyril and Lena Jerome Levitt. He served in the Army from 1953 until 1955. Ray worked as a carpenter most of his life, working for Levitt Construction which his brother Cyril Levitt Jr. owned. He retired in 1997. He was active in the Lake Placid Pee Wee Association for many years, coaching both baseball and hockey; Ray was most proud of his years coaching the Lake Placid Squirt team with his friend Ted Michaud. Ray played both baseball and softball , loved hunting and bowling and became an avid golfer. He also had a love of reading. On October 14th of 1955, he married Sandra Otis, they had three children: Rick, Fred and Steve all whom survive him. He is also survived by his sister Pat Skeels, several nieces and nephews, along with three Grandchildren: Meagan Levitt, Noelle Levitt and Reagan Levitt and three Great Grandchildren: Chloe Uebrick, Tatum Gibson and Piper Gibson. Ray was pre-deceased by his parents along with his brothers: Cyril Jr., Jack, George and Bucky and his sister's: Eleanor Lacy and June Levitt. There will be no calling hours and the burial will be at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers the family asks for donations to the Saranac Lake office of High Peaks Hospice in Ray's name. The M. B. Clark, Inc., Funeral Home in Lake Placid is in charge of arrangements.
