Obituary of Andrew Eugene Oliver

Please share a memory of Andrew to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
On March 29th our beloved Andrew Oliver passed away after a long hard fight to live. He was an amazing person from a different era. He grew up on a family farm, served in the army during the Korean war, and retired as a correctional officer. Though he was tough as nails, he was the kind of person who would give you the shirt off his back. He truly defined what it is to be American. Family, God, and Country were not merely an idea but a daily practice. Our hearts are heavy but his ideals will live on through his family. He was our “rock”. He will be missed. Survivors include his loving wife of 63 years, Rita Demers Oliver; children Denise Gagne (Wade Hebert), Kathy (John) Korona, Bruce (Cheryl) Oliver, Roland (Sonya) Oliver, Jonathan (Anna) Oliver and many grandchildren and great grandchildren. Brothers Bernard Oliver of Chazy and Leo Oliver and his wife Susan of West Chazy; sisters, Giselle Corron and her husband, Elmer of Archdale, N.C., and Irene Baker of Chazy; one sister-in-law, Rose Oliver of Plattsburgh; many nieces and nephews; and great-nieces and nephews. Celebration of life service will be held at a later date. In memory of Andrew donations may be made to Hospice of the North Country.
