Obituary of Arthur M. Tremblay

Arthur M. Tremblay died on Easter Sunday, April 12, 2020 at Meadowbrook Healthcare in Plattsburgh, NY.
Arthur was born on Novemer 2, 1929 to Arthur Hormidos Tremblay and Alma LaVenture Tremblay. He graduated from St. Mary’s Academy in Champlain.
He married Mary Ann Catherine Penfield at St. John’s Church in Plattsburgh on September 2, 1952 and settled in Rouses Point, where they lived on State Street for the next 63 years until they had to move to a skilled nursing facility.
Arthur worked for Key Bank as a branch manager until his retirement. During the 1960’s he was additionally employed as treasurer for the village of Rouses Point. During the 1970’s he enjoyed being a member, and ultimately president of the Rouses Point/Champlain Chamber of Commerce. Arthur was an avid antiques collector and dealer, specializing in clocks and telephones. His collections of both were well known throughout the area.
He is survived by two sons, Arthur R. (Bobby) Tremblay of Rouses Point and James F. (Jamie) Tremblay and his wife, Jan, of Highgate Center, VT. Arthur is also survived by his nieces Pauline Brindisi of Rouses Point, Audrey (Dee Dee) Brown and her husband of Chazy, and Donna Gero of Champlain.
Arthur was predeceased by his parents, his wife Mary Ann, and his brothers Hubert Tremblay of Dania, FL, and Arsene Tremblay of Chazy, NY.
There will be no services at this time, but a graveside memorial service for family and close friends will be held in the near future. Donations in Arthur’s name can be made to the American Parkinson’s Disease Foundation (www.apdaparkinson.org).
