It is with great sadness that the family of Mary Emaline Jewtraw Gagnon, announces her passing after a long battle with cancer, on Monday, May 25, 2020, at the age of 77. Born in Lake Placid, New York on August 16, 1942, she was the daughter of Clarence (Babe) Jewtraw, and Julia Demar Whitmen. Mary leaves behind her life partner Jim Brooks in Port Henry, NY were they resided. She is survived by her sisters Shirley Allen and husband Rip Allen of Saranac Lake, NY, and Sharon Roberts of Punta Gorda, Fl. Mary will be lovingly remembered by Jim and her children Julia Corrow of Lake Placid, Mark Borden (Karen) of Kentucky, John Gagnon of Lake Placid, and Jodi Gagnon of Clearwater, Florida. Her seven grandchildren, Melissa Murphy and her husband Dan, Monaca Corrow and her partner Mike Tyler, Samantha Gagnon, Mark Borden Jr, Ryder Gagnon, Hayley and Hannah Barber will carry her in their hearts. Numerous great grandchildren, nieces and nephews will also forever remember Mary. Mary retired from the Alpine Cellar as head house keeper where she worked for over 20 years. Mary was respected and loved by many. Before she became ill, fishing was her passion. Mary loved cats very much, Big Red, and Bou were her fur babies and best friends. She enjoyed crocheting, fishing, watching and feeding birds and squirrels. She enjoyed sitting on her front porch waving to all that passed by and talking with all her neighbors. She loved summer nights with bon fires, spending time with her great grandchildren giving them chocolate and butterscotch candies and sharing her love for nature and the outdoors with them. Funeral arrangements are in care of the M. B. Clark, Inc., Funeral Home in Lake Placid, New York. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday July 14th at 11:00 AM at St. Agnes Church in Lake Placid. Burial will follow at North Elba Cemetery.
