Obituary of Joyce Ann Planty

Joyce Ann Planty, age 84, of Lake Placid, NY passed away with her family by her side, Monday, June 15, 2020 at Adirondack Medical Center in Saranac Lake, NY. She was born June 30, 1935, in Lake Placid, the daughter of Clarence V. and Violet (Bruce) Hare. Joyce attended Lake Placid Central School. She married Leon J. Planty on Jan. 24, 1976. She worked various local retail / clerk jobs over the years at The Hotel Marcy, Lake Placid Club Apothecary, American Village Dry Cleaners and Placid Creations Gift Shop. Joyce loved reading, knitting and crocheting. She also loved going for rides around town and adored her two little dogs. She was very giving and generous to everyone with her love and time, always putting her family and friends ahead of herself. Joyce was predeceased by her parents Clarence Sr. and Violet Hare, as well as several brothers and sisters, Clarence Jr., Bruce, Betty, Connie, Judy, and Mary Jane. She is survived by her loving husband Leon Planty of Lake Placid; a son Nick (Lisa) Planty of Lake Placid, and their two daughters and four grandchildren; two stepsons, Aaron Arquette of Decatur, Texas and Dan Planty also of Decatur, Texas; three brothers, George (Donna) Hare of Clifton Park, Richard Hare of Lake Placid, and Tommy (Gloria) Hare of Tupper Lake; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. There are no services planned at this time. The M. B. Clark, Inc. Funeral Home in Lake Placid, NY is in charge of arrangements.
