Frances K. Davis of Lake Placid, New York died on August 13, 2020. She was born January 11, 1920 in New York City, the daughter of Benjamin and Lillie (Perlman) Kinberg. She was the beloved wife of the late Jack M. Davis, the mother of Donna Fraioli, two sons, David and Jim, who pre-deceased her and devoted grandmother and great-grandmother. She was a patron of the arts and served on the board of the Lake Placid Center for the Arts for many years. Memorial remembrances may be made to the Jack M. Davis Memorial Fund at ACT, or the Lake Placid Center for the Arts. Due to the current restrictions there are no calling hours, Frances will be intered next to her husband, Jack Davis at Mount Pleasant Cemetery in Hawthorne, NY. A graveside prayer service will be held at the convenience of the family. Rabbi Stacy Bergman will officiate. The M. B. Clark, Inc. Funeral Home in Lake Placid, New York is in charge of arrangements. Relatives and friends are invited to share a memory, upload photographs or leave condolences at www.mbclarkfuneralhome.com . In Appreciation…. Lake Placid is a special place, not only because it has hosted two Olympic Winter Games or is often the most frigid place in the country, but because of the warmth and generosity of its people. I don't think when, as a young bride from New York City, my father introduced my mother to Lake Placid in the summer of 1943, she ever envisioned herself staying but, after raising our family in White Plains, it is where she longed to return. She was able to look across Mirror Lake to "The Honeymoon Cottage" (AKA The Hotel Marcy) and gain great comfort in her memories. She always felt that she had had the best life and did not let heartbreaking tragedies cloud the memories of all the wonderful times she enjoyed. I believe that part of the reason for this was the help and support that was always extended to her by the people of Lake Placid. This selflessness has shown itself often throughout the years and is something that is ingrained in the makeup of the town's people. The Vespa family, the Hart family, Dr. & Mrs. Bergamini, Dr. Claude Roland, Mrs. Francine Jesmer, Ms. Heather Mihill, Mr. Jerry Strack and so many others have embraced her and shown the greatest acts of kindness and compassion. We are forever grateful to all of you. She had a wonderful life and traveled to many places but Lake Placid always called her home. Donna Davis Fraioli .
