Akira Sato, age 64, of Main Street, Lake Placid, NY died Wednesday, January 27, 2021 at Adirondack Medical Center in Saranac Lake, NY. Mr. Sato was born July 20, 1956 in Japan. He moved to the United States of America around 25 years ago originally residing in Brooklyn, NY and worked for the Iron Chef. Akira was a master with the Chef Knife, his precision and attention to detail in the kitchen was unmatched. He was a self-taught Pastry Chef and a master of design and all culinary arts. Upon moving to Lake Placid, NY Akira was employed at Aki Sushi, Lake Placid, where he demonstrated his skills as Sushi Chef. He worked for over eight years at Nicola's Restaurant, in Lake Placid. He also worked at Lisa G's, Casa Del Soul and the Whiteface Inn. There are no calling hours. A graveside remembrance service will be held in North Elba Cemetery, Lake Placid, NY. On Friday, February 5th at1:00 PM. Friends attending are encouraged to share a brief story or offer a prayer. The M. B. Clark, Inc. Funeral Home in Lake Placid, NY is in charge of arrangements.
