Obituary of Heinz W. H. Thiemann
Please share a memory of Heinz to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Heinz W. H. Thiemann, 87, of Lake Placid, passed away Wednesday, February 17, 2021, at Elderwood of Uihlein at Lake Placid.
Heinz was born in Lauenberg, Germany, the eldest son of Albert and Anna (Juerges) Thiemann. He was married to his wife Aloisia (Burkard) of 57 years before her passing in 2013. Both had immigrated to the USA in the 1950s and met in New York City, where they were married in 1956.
He was a man who was skilled at many trades, having supported his family as an auto, boat, and truck mechanic for most of his adult life by working at Monaghan Motors Chrysler dealership, Holiday Harbor marina, and the Town of North Elba Highway Department. His talents, however, also extended to carpentry, plumbing, electrical, masonry, and cabinetry, which he put to use building the family home on Averyville Road, by himself. He also enjoyed hunting and fishing, and was always a big help to his wife in her vegetable garden.
Heinz is survived by his three sons: Peter Thiemann and his wife Linda of Liverpool, NY, Thomas Thiemann of Thomson, GA, and Steven Thiemann of Yonkers, NY. He also has four grandchildren: Alison, Carolyn, Erich, and Christopher.
Due to the Covid-19 restrictions, the Thiemann family has elected to postpone services until they can safely and conveniently gather. The date and location will be published at a later date.
The M. B. Clark, Inc., Funeral Home in Lake placid, NY is in charge of arrangements. Relatives and friends are invited to share a story, upload photographs or leave condolences at www.mbclarkfuneralhome.com .
