Please share a memory of Amy to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Amy Louise (Willette) Patrie, 70, of Plattsburgh, NY (formerly Champlain, NY) passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 9, 2021 at the University of Vermont Medical Center, after a long illness.
Amy, born September 21, 1950 to the late Cleophas and Alfreda (Phaneuf) Willette of Champlain, married her high school sweetheart, Leonard on September 06, 1969. Together they raised 4 children: Rachel, Randall, Jeremy and Julie. Amy is survived by her beloved husband of 51 years, Deacon Leonard Patrie, their 4 children and respective spouses, as well as 10 grandchildren (Daniel Patrie, Zachary Miller, Alexander Patrie, Thomas Patrie, Ezekiel Brinson, Abigail Patrie, Cassandra Ashline, Samuel Brinson, Benjamin Brinson & Kaylee Patrie). She is also survived by her sister, Julie DiPrinzio of Bethlehem, PA and her family, her brother Randall Willette of Mooers, NY and his family, and her brother-in law Phillip Patrie of Mooers, NY and his family.
Amy was a secretary at Pfizer for 30 years and retired in 2005. Amy was an active member of Saint Mary’s Parish in Champlain, where she led adult and children’s choirs for many years. Amy loved playing the piano or guitar and singing the Lord’s praise. Amy was a Lay Associate of the Sisters of Saint Joseph. She was a devout Catholic and an active communicant at St. Mary’s in Champlain and St. John’s Parish in Plattsburgh until she suffered a stroke in 2013. After which, Amy delighted in attending services at the St. John’s XXIII Newman Center in Plattsburgh.
She had many talents to include composing music and writing lyrics, playing multiple instruments, crafting, and writing poetry. Amy loved her family dearly and was always the proudest meme around! Spending time with her family and grandchildren always brought her great joy.
Amy spent the last 18 months at the Plattsburgh Rehabilitation and Nursing Center. Her family would like to thank the many staff that helped take care of her. Additionally, to all the technicians, nurses and staff at the HK Freedman Renal Center, thank you so much for taking care of Amy for the past 5 years.
Visitation will be at St. Mary’s Church in Champlain on Friday May 14th at 10:00 A.M. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial, then internment at St. Mary’s Cemetery.
