Obituary of Barbara D. Strack

Barbara D. Strack, 86, of Lake Placid passed away on May 15, 2021. Barbara was born in Lake Placid, NY. She was born August 7, 1934 in Lake Placid, NY the daughter of Charles A. and Doris Wood Downs. Barbara was a graduate of Lake Placid high school and Mildred Elly School of Business. She worked most of her adult life as a Medical Secretary. In 1954 she married Victor Strack (who preceded her in death) together they celebrated 65 years of marriage. She was the mother of two children Lisa (Jack) Favro, and Lori-ann (Jeff) Cunningham who survive. Barbara was the beloved Grandmother to Joshua (Cori-Anne) Favro, Ashley (Ryan) Bird, Matthew (Lauren) Cunningham, and Jordan (Melissa) Favro. She is also survived by her great grand-children Cooper, Aubrey, Emma, and Sadie. Barbara was active in her community serving as a call list person for the Lake Placid Fire Dept., working on local elections, and with the Christmas food program. Barbara was an avid reader, supporter, and volunteer at the Lake Placid Public Library. A graveside memorial service will be scheduled in June. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the Lake Placid Public Library or the Tri-Lakes Humane Society. A graveside service will be held on June 21st at 1:00PM at North Elba Cemetery, Old Military Rd, Lake Placid, NY with Rev. Kenneth Mihill officiating. The M. B. Clark, Inc.
