ROUSES POINT, NY - Theresa P. Boutin, 89, passed away peacefully at home, on Wednesday, June 30, 2021 into the arms of our Lord under the loving care of her family, Father Clyde A. Lewis, Pastor of St. Patrick’s Church and Deacon Noel Hinerth. She was born in Proctor, VT, on December 24, 1931, the daughter of Maurice and Ida (Lavalley) Hebert. Theresa grew up in Champlain and was a parishioner at St. Mary’s Church. She graduated from St. Mary’s Academy and soon after began her career at Ayerst Laboratories in Rouses Point. On August 7, 1954, Theresa was united in marriage to Harvey J. Boutin, at St. Mary’s Church in Champlain. She devoted her life to caring for her family and left her position at Ayerst Laboratories when her first child was born. She raised four children with her husband and was always there for family, neighbors and anyone else who needed assistance. Theresa was a parishioner of St. Patrick’s Church in Rouses Point and took great pride in her role as Eucharist Minister and Lector at her parish. Theresa was known for her strong faith and instilled this faith in her family. Though Theresa’s health was failing for several years, few people knew the extent to which she struggled. Her joy for life and love for her family kept her pushing through the pain. As she faced these health challenges, it was Theresa’s wish to remain at home and our loving and devoted Dad fulfilled this wish and took incredible care of her. Left to cherish her memory is her loving and devoted husband of 66 years, Harvey, their son, Michael and wife Cynthia Boutin of Euless, TX, and three daughters, Katherine and husband Larry Brown, Karen and husband Calvin Coulombe and Bevera Gravelle all of Rouses Point. Theresa is also survived by her eight grandchildren: Amanda and husband Michael Mejia of Fort Worth, TX, Emily Boutin and partner Ben Shank of Dallas,TX, Madeline and husband Patrick Fogarty of Plano, TX, Jessica and husband Patrick Girard of Charlotte, NC, Melissa Peck and partner Kelsey Norwood of Morrisonville, Christina (who was always referred to as their fifth child) and husband Dylan Deso of Champlain, Nicholas Benjamin of Rouses Point and Sara and husband Andrew Lavalley of West Chazy. Theresa is also survived by her eight great-grandchildren: Lucas Fogarty, Lane Girard, Lydia Norwood, Ryan Brown, Isabella, Eaven and Sophia Deso and Parker Lavalley. Also, surviving her are her loving in-laws, Frank Boutin and Sylvia Scriver of Mooers Forks, Evelyn Lavalley of Kenmore, NY and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Theresa was predeceased by her parents, Maurice and Ida (Lavalley) Hebert, her mother-in-law and father-in-law, Medric and Laura Boutin, brother and sister-in-law, Alfred and Virginia Hebert, foster sister, Anne Laramee, sister-in-law, Hortense Boutin, brothers-in-law Robert Scriver and Homer Lavalley. Rest easy, our beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. You will be deeply missed and forever in our hearts. Her family finds peace in the belief that upon her passing, angels safely accompanied her on her journey to her eternal home, where she was greeted by the saints and those loved ones who preceded her in death. She will be in God’s presence for eternity. “Mom we love you to the moon and back and all around.” Our family would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to Hospice of the North Country, especially to her nurse, Heather Newell, who took excellent care of our Mom with great compassion, Dr. Maurice Racine, nurse Melissa Gooley and the entire staff at Champlain Family Health for the excellent care our Mom received. Also, heartfelt thanks to the employees of the Village of Rouses Point who were always there to assist our parents in their times of need and to the employees of Chazy Hardware. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday, July 7, 2021 at 11:00 at St. Patrick’s Church in Rouses Point. Burial will follow at St. Patrick’s Cemetery. It is our family’s wish to not have a reception after the funeral. Our Dad needs time to rest and have some quiet time. We ask you to use your voice for kindness, your ears for compassion, your hands for charity, your mind for truth and your heart for love. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in Theresa’s memory be made to Hospice of the North Country or the Rouses Point Fire Department. Arrangements are under the care of M. B. Clark Funeral Home in Rouses Point.
