Obituary of Vance C. Vincent
Please share a memory of Vance to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Vance Charles Vincent, 58, of Silver Springs, Florida, peacefully passed away on August 4th, after a difficult battle with lung disease.
Vance was born in Saranac Lake, NY on the 29th of October 1962 to Bob and Shirley Vincent of Lake Placid. Vance graduated from Lake Placid Central High School in 1980 and earned two Associates Degrees. Vance earned an Associates in Science degree for Business Administration at North Country Community College in 1996. At Cazenovia College, where he remained on the Dean's List and majored in Visual Communications, he earned an Associate in Applied Science degree in 1999.
After college, Vance worked in a variety of positions over the years, but always fell back on the true love of his life. The Art of Pencil Drawings and sketching. Vance was passionate about his art and aspired to create and share his talents as often as time would allow him, from beautiful drawings of our beloved Adirondack mountains to his very own astonishing self-portrait. One of his most prized accomplishments was a poster he created for an art show on Long Island in 1980; a memorial to John Lennon; his favorite Beetle.
Vance had two very special fur and feather babies that have survived him. Abby is a recent adoption; a sweet little terrier puppy who will live with his niece Miranda Clark. Vance's very special lifelong friend was Jack. Jack is a Blue-Fronted Amazon Parrot. He held a very special place in Vance's heart. Those who met Jack when Vance lived locally are still entertained today as they recall the Hawaiian shirted man taking walks through town with good ole Jack perched on his shoulder. Vance being an avid Star Trek fan taught Jack many lasers and unique treky sounds he still performs today at 35 years old. Jack will miss Vance very much but is being very loved and cared for by Vance's cousin Desiree McCalvin.
Vance was predeceased by his father Robert (Bob) Vincent, his mother Shirley Vincent, and his brother Robert (Skip) Vincent. He is survived by his sister Therese Martin (David Martin), brother Kelly Vincent, brother Christopher Vincent, sister Deanna Clark (Brian Clark), and Uncle Clayton Green, along with many nieces, nephews, and cousins. A grave side service will be held at Saint Agnes Cemetery, Lake Placid on September 4th at 2:00pm. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to your local art centers or animal shelters.
The M. B. Clark, Inc. Funeral Home in Lake Placid is in charge of arrangements. Please visit www.mbclarkfuneralhome.com to share a memory or leave a condolence for the family to cherish.
