Obituary of Theresa Agnes Gonyea

Theresa Agnes Gonyea, 95, of Lake Placid, NY passed away Wednesday, September 8, 2021 at Meadowbrook Healthcare in Plattsburgh, NY. Mrs. Gonyea was born October 25, 1925 in Altona, NY. She is the daughter of John J. and Agnes (Morrow) Ledwith. She married Fabian J. Gonyea, Sr. on September 2, 1947 at the Adirondack Community Church, Lake placid, NY. She was predeceased by her husband, Fabian J. Gonyea, Sr. on March 2, 2002. Theresa loved spending time with her husband and her family at their camp on Cameras Pond. She cherished the time she spent with all of her children and their families. Her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren all held a special place in her heart. She is survived by; three daughters, Rose Marie Porter of Lewis, NY, Sharon Meeks and her husband Jesse of Winchester, VA and Karen Meeks and her husband Jim of Winchester, VA; one son, Fabian Gonyea, Jr. and his wife Dianne of Lake placid, NY; one sister, Agatha Ledwith Kingston of Boston, MA; thirteen grandchildren, twenty-one great-grandchildren and twenty great-great-grandchildren. Mrs. Gonyea was predeceased by her parents, John J. and Agnes Ledwith; her husband, Fabian Gonyea, Sr.; an infant daughter, Deborah Ann Gonyea; four brothers, Art Ledwith, Jerry Ledwith, Roswell Ledwith and Johnny Ledwith; She is also predeceased by two sisters, Florence Collins and Marion Shipman. Calling hours will be Friday, September 10th from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM with a prayer service held at 7:45 PM at the M. B. Clark, Inc., Funeral Home, 2310 Saranac Ave., Lake Placid, NY. The funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, September 11th at M. B. Clark, Inc., 2310 Saranac Ave., Lake Placid, NY with Rev. Derek H. Hansen officiating.
