I am so sorry to hear of Ruth's passing. I lost touch with her over the past few years but have such wonderful memories of her. We worked together at Health Center East in Syracuse years ago. We always referred to each other as partners. I learned so much from her & became a better x-ray technologist because of all she taught me. She always had a smile & a big hug for anyone who needed it. We shared many good times outside of work & were there for each other during low points in our lives.
My condolences to Sister Catherine and your family. I know Ruth was always so thankful for all your family did for her. I will always remember when the two of you came to our home in Lafayette to attend a concert & we watched an SU basketball game together. I know your heart is heavy but we both know she is in God's hands now & enjoying a well deserved rest in heaven after a life full of giving & caring for others. Will miss her too.

Ruth was a memorable character with a huge heart and personality. When I first interviewed her at Lakeside House, we found we had much in common, both being Pennsylvania girls. When I noticed she had graduated from East Stroudsburg Univ., my alma mater, I knew I had no choice but to hire her.
As a member of the Lakeside House team, she was willing and able to take on any shift, any task, any resident. She worked tirelessly and, although the residents quickly began calling her “Sarge”, they respected her and came to count on her kindness and direction. As a friend, I found Ruth to be loyal and true. I loved talking to her about growing up in PA, her dog Baron, and the love she had for her family and friends. A great soul, much missed!
