Shocked and sad to stumble upon this. Dennis and I worked together in Mobile, Alabama and later in Olean, New York. Many, many fond memories I shall treasure.

Although I was the editor of LPN many moons ago, you considered me one of the original "Good Guys" of ADK Radio. Our friendship stood the test of miles and time. Your volunteerism was testament to how far the bar could be raised for what one person could do for a community they so loved. "Oh! I have slipped the surly bonds of Earth
And danced the skies on laughter-silvered wings." My deepest condolences to Barbara and family.

A single drop of water creates a ripple affect. I was one of the lucky ones to feel the wave of Dennis. Though we only spent 3 days together when you came to visit the Calgaryjobshop team it was a forever memorable experience. You inspired and encouraged me at every turn. I changed my path in life with much of your advice as the fuel for my decisions. When my boys are old enough to understand I hope to pass on your enthusiasm, encouragement and become half the man to them that you were to the people you washed over. Rest well my friend.

Words cannot express what a loss Dennis' untimely and tragic passing is to so many. Dennis and I got to know each other pretty well back in the late 80's, as we made a habit of sharing Sunday brunch together for a while. And Don and I will never forget the time Dennis invited us to view the July 4th fireworks from the "fire site"! Pretty nervewracking! But Dennis was always up for the next thrill....My heartfelt condolences to "the lovely Barbara", and to the entire family. May you have strength at this horrible and unthinkable time. May your pain pass quickly.

My regrets to Dennis' family. I had the opportunity to get to know him while I was pastor in Chateaugay. Truly a good man.

I was fortunate to spend many nights on the front porch of the Ryan's house listening to Pearl Habor stories and all the exciting things Dennis and Joey were doing with their lives. Those nights changed my live, opening my eyes to a life outside of Chateaugay and all the possibilities that could be. Dennis your adventures and zest for life influenced me from afar. I didn't see you much face to face but loved reminiscing about Joe and Harriet. You will be missed and it is clear from the outpouring of facebook comments that you touched so many more lives than you might have realized.

Dennis, dear Dennis - there are so many reasons to miss you, but the best reason to miss you is YOU. As one of those from the Hudson Valley who were so lucky to know you thank you for everything and everyday - you made me laugh, grow, and be proud to be a sales professional thanks to your mentoring. Barbara - we only met once or twice but I knew he adored you by his every word about you, he lit up when he spoke of you. I am so sorry for his passing and your loss. With love for the man and the memories. Genie

I met him thru Dale Davis. I've only known him around a year, and am deeply touched by his passing. I feel so sad for those who knew him longer, as this must be incredibly devistating. He was a good soul.

I have lost a friend of radio...Dennis Ryan. Dennis was responsible for bringing me to Dubuque and hosting the Morning Show and The Saturday Night Cruise at KAT-FM. Dennis was the boss but I never felt that way with him, he always treated me as a friend and as a business peer. Coming to the Tri-State area was the best thing I ever did 25 years ago and have Dennis to thank for that. Thanks to him for great memories...the plane ride 10 feet above the Mississippi River, the fireworks, making the Saturday Night Cruise the best it could be, showing me the best clubs in East Dubuque, and again for bringing me to what is now my homeland. Godspeed Dennis Ryan, you truly earned your wings!
