Obituary of Joanne C. Favro
Please share a memory of Joanne to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Joanne Carol Favro, 88 of Champlain, NY, died at Meadowbrook Health Care Facility on Tuesday, March 29, 2022. She was born in Rochester, NY, on December 28, 1933, the daughter of Roldon Emery and Margaret (VerCruysse) Emery.
Joanne was a daycare provider for many children over the years. She was an avid sewer and knitter of all types of clothing which she donated back to the local community. She enjoyed playing cards, regular shopping trips to Christopher & Banks, and sharing weekly dinners with friends Jeannette Rowe, and Millie Willette, as she lovingly referred to as her best friends.
Joanne was a life-long resident of Champlain, where she met and married her soulmate, the late Robert Hoyle Favro, Sr. They were happily married for 58 years, prior to his passing. You would often see them taking Sunday drives, and stopping along the way for a bite to eat at local establishments. They have three children, Deborah Favro, and husband Benoit Falcon, of Quebec, Canada, Gary and Shelley Favro, of Myrtle Beach, SC, and Robert Jr. and Tammy Favro, of Plattsburgh, NY. She was extremely proud of her grandchildren, Benjamin Favro, and wife Jamie, of Rouses Point, NY, Kristie (Favro), and husband Michael Nordin, of San Antonio, Texas, Jessica Favro, of Ellenburg Center, NY, Jennifer Favro, of Mooers Forks, NY, Taylor Kelsey, of Kansas City, MO, and Jarrod Packwood of Peru, NY., along with her great grandchildren, Abigail and Maxwell Favro, of Rouses Point, NY, and Grady Nordin, of San Antonio, Texas.
Joanne is survived by one sister Roselyn Argetsinger, of Rochester, NY, two brothers, Leland Emery of Chazy, NY, and Gary Emery, of Goldsboro, NC. She is predeceased by Wayne Emery, Donald Emery, Richard Emery, and Robert Emery.
There will be no calling hours. Burial will be private at St. Mary's Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Rouses Point Fire Department, who over the years have assisted Joanne, and have always been gracious, professional and empathetic.
