Horace John Bigelow "John" age 85, formerly of 89 Greenwood St., Lake Placid died Monday, April 15, 2013 at AMC-Uihlein Mercy Center of Lake Placid, NY where he had been a resident since March 2012. Mr. Bigelow was born March 26, 1928 in Port Washington, NY. He is the son of the late Horace and the late Cecile (Coudert) Bigelow. He served in the Unites States Army during the Korean War. He was a member of the American Legion, Post 326, Lake Placid, NY. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday, April 18, 2013 at 12:00 Noon at Reiss Memorial Chapel in AMC-Uihlein Mercy Center. Rev. Patrick O'Reilly will officiate.
Burial will be in St. Agnes Cemetery in May. The family suggests donations in Johns memory be made to Lake Placid Vol. Ambulance Service or St. Agnes Catholic Church.
