Obituary of Richard Thomas Preston

Richard T. Preston Sr., passed away at his home on August 19, 2022 at the age of 73 years old. was born August 21, 1948 in Lake Placid, NY the son of Austin and Helen (Jenny) Preston of Lake Placid, NY. Richard retired from the Town of North Elba Park District in October, 2003, He was a family man and enjoyed the time he spent with those he loved the most. He was a dedicated race fan and could be found at Airborne Park Speedway on any given Saturday. He also enjoyed country music and often attended Elvis festivals in Lake George with his brother Ralph. Richard is survived by two brothers, Austin Preston Jr., Ralph Preston Sr., and four sisters, Mildred, Beverly, Karen and Cindy. He is also survived by his daughter Helen Cooney and his son Richard Preston Jr.. Richard had 8 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren which he enjoyed spending time with as well as sharing all his love. He is predeceased by his parents, His wife Virginia, his daughter Tammie, his sisters Elaine, Arvella and Maryellen. His brothers George, Loren, Bill, and Jimmy. Calling hours will be held on Monday the 22nd from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the M. B. Clark, inc., Funeral Home in Lake Placid, NY. A funeral service will be held Tuesday August 23rd at 11:00 am at the M. B. Clark, Inc., Funeral Home, Lake Placid with burial to follow at North Elba Cemetery.
