Josette “Jo” Alice (Beauvais) LeBlanc, 94, of Rouses Point, New York passed away peacefully on August 21, 2022 at UVM-CVPH in Plattsburgh, NY. Josette was born in LaPrairie, Quebec, Canada on September 8, 1927, the daughter of James and Annie Beauvais. She married Robert LeBlanc on October 6, 1951 in Rouses Point, NY, where they lived together for 64 years until his passing. Josette is survived by her three children: daughters Anne Carey and her husband Bill of Rouses Point, NY; Leisa Baker of Plattsburgh, NY and son Michael LeBlanc and companion Julie Kirby of Rouses Point, NY. She is also survived by eight grandchildren: granddaughters, Melissa (Carey) Forey and her husband Cameron of St. Albans VT; Meg (Carey) Welch and her husband Tom of Jackman, ME; grandson Bill Carey and fiancée Amanda Cudemo of Rouses Point, NY; granddaughters, Olivia, Madison, Makenzie and Kennedy Baker of Plattsburgh, NY; Sara Kirby of Rouses Point, NY; six great grandchildren: Casey Forey, Hailey Welch, Braidan Welch, Jayden Cudemo, Leigha Carey, and Natalia D’Orio. Son-in-law Chris Baker of Roswell, New Mexico. She is also survived by her sister-in-laws: Theresa (Terry) LeBlanc of Rouses Point, NY; Florence LeBlanc of Westbrook, Me; Marcelle Johnson and her husband Erwin of Bullhead, AZ; Joyce LeBlanc of Yuma, AZ; and brother-in-law Rudolph (Rudy) and his wife Lena of Portland, ME; as well as many nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her husband Robert, parents James and Annie (Bourne) Beauvais; sisters Theresa Fennell, Suzanne Hurst, and brother John Beauvais; mother-in-law and father-in-law Lucien and Marie “Mary” Rose (Belanger) LeBlanc; brother-in-laws and sister-in-laws Joseph Fennell, Howard Hurst, Irene Beauvais, Kathleen Beauvais, Roland and Rita LeBlanc; Roger and Gemma LeBlanc, James and Margaret Scaringe, Richard and Rejeanne Traynor, Francis (Pete) LeBlanc, Jean LeBlanc, Paul LeBlanc, and George and Susan LeBlanc. Josette graduated from Rouses Point High School in 1945. She was employed by the Railway Express Agency right out of high school, where she processed entries and paperwork for US Customs until the company closed in the 1970s. After the closure she was employed by A.N. Derringer, Inc. in Champlain, NY. Later she worked for Harrison’s Pharmacy in Rouses Point. She enjoyed doing her daily crossword puzzles with her morning coffee. She spent much of her free time doing jig-saw puzzles, bowling, playing cards, and watching hockey with Robert and their family. She was an avid reader and enjoyed her daily walks around the village. She loved to share the history of Rouses Point and stories of the past with family and friends. Josette was a parishioner of St. Patrick’s Church, where she enjoyed being a member of the church choir. Calling hours will be held at M. B. Clark Funeral Home, 148 Lake Street, Rouses Point, NY on Thursday, August 25 from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Patrick’s Church in Rouses Point on Friday, August 26 at 2:00 p.m. Interment will follow immediately at St. Patrick’s Cemetery. Donations may be made to the Rouses Point Fire Department, PO Box 185, Rouses Point, NY.
