Obituary of Envy Coffin

Please share a memory of Envy to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
The joy of our lives, Envy Coffin, formerly known as Casey Coffin, has left our world unexpectedly after a tragic accident. She lived with her family in Keene Valley, NY for most of her short life, having moved to the Adirondacks from Nantucket when she was 3. Born October 6, 2005 in Nantucket, MA, Envy was a delightfully happy and sweet child who was a constant joy to all who knew her. She loved skiing, going to the beach, rock climbing, biking, swimming, and most of all, being with friends. She had a very vast array of musical taste, from classical to punk, classic rock to heavy metal, she was constantly exploring new music. Envy made friends everywhere she went and was always keeping in touch with friends that she met on her travels. Envy was a student at Keene Central School, which she attended during the entirety of her school career. This year, she was also enrolled as a student of culinary arts at CVTEC. She loved her part time job working at Old Mountain Coffee in Keene Valley and dreamed of attending the Culinary Institute after graduation. Envy started alpine skiing when she was two years old and was a naturally talented expert skier. She skied at Whiteface Mountain for most of her life and was capable of skiing anywhere on any mountain. She also attended Pok-O-Macready camp in Willsboro and was given the Poko-P award, the most prestigious camper award at the camp. She was known for her sense of fashion and wore wild and bold colors and patterns that were her trademark style. She also loved film and sought out many genres of films to watch with her friends and family. Envy dreamed of living in New York City. Although she loved her home in the Adirondack Mountains and she loved the island of Nantucket, she felt most alive, most herself when she was in a city. She was so looking forward to her future life of living in the city with friends. She was really looking forward to an upcoming trip to Germany, Austria and Switzerland, which would have been her first trip to Europe. She is survived by her family: parents Tom Coffin and Heather Leisher Coffin, brother Skyler Coffin, her beloved cat, Ubu and dog Emma, grandparents Joan and Dennis Santangelo of Nantucket, MA, Ken and Cheryl Coffin of Nantucket, Mike and Linda Leisher of Titusville, PA, many beloved aunts and uncles and a tight-knit group of cousins that were her very close friends. There will be a private viewing for family at M.B. Clark Funeral home in Lake Placid, NY on Tuesday, February 14th. A celebration of her beautiful life will be held at Scott's Cobble Nordic Center located at Craig wood Golf and Country Club in Lake Placid on Thursday, February 16 at 2:00. All who knew and loved her are welcome to attend. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the Keene Valley Library in Keene Valley. Arrangements are in care of M. B.
