Robert J. Martin, 64, of Champlain passed away unexpectedly at his home February 24, 2023.

Born in Plattsburgh NY, February 22, 1959 to Michael and Norma (Peldington) Martin. He was a lifelong Champlain resident.

Robert had a great love for almost any animal, but always a special place for any in the canine variety. He held strong, and lived his life by the saying "Bad Decisions make great stories" and loved his children and grandchildren with his entire soul.

Robert is survived by son, Bradley Martin of Mooers NY, daughter Amanda (Brandon) Gooley of Champlain, granddaughters Brookely (Cam) Martin and Katelyn (Cory) Martin of Ohio, Haylee Gooley of Champlain, Grandson Ethan Gooley of Champlain, and soon to arrive great-grandson Landon. Sister Kathy (Wallace) Borrie, Brothers Steven (Lorraine) Martin, and Wayne Martin. Long time girlfriend Denise Matton, and pups Amos, Eustase, and Emmett.

Predeceased by his parents and heart dogs Damian, Bear, and Malaki.

There will be no calling hours, per his very adamant request. Everyone please have a drink and share a good story. He will be spending eternity petting all the dogs, laughing the loudest, and telling the craziest stories.
