Such sad, sad news. My memories of Denny go back to the banks of the Zambezi and the heights of Kilimanjaro, and my thoughts are with Karen and his daughters. Such a sad loss.

Whenever I think of Denny three things immediately come to mind:
that pipe, that outlandishly fabulous mustache and that devilishly contagious laugh.
I will miss you very much and I am so grateful to have been able to call you part of my family.
Journey on- to bigger and more amazing things!
God Bless.

Thank you Mr Dunmire, as you inspired me to pursue a career in science. It all started with your stories about scientific discoveries in high school! You were an inspiration and an excellent teacher. My heart goes out to Karen, Erika and Coco.

Goodbye, Mr. Dunmire. You were one of the first teachers I had at ASK, and easily one of the best and one of my favorites (something I'm sure many of your students at ASK would agree with). You made learning fun, and were always nice, friendly, inspirational, funny, and charming. Your presence was definitely felt during the days of the 'old' campus. Rest in peace, Mr. D, you will be missed and fondly remembered.

Denny,
I'm thinking about "Our Town" and fast forwarding six months, quietly driving in to the Hazelton Cemetery, just after sunset. It's beautiful, peaceful and I see you and my Mom, sitting on that bench. She's sipping a martini, and you've got your YooHoo, and peanutbutter/ritz crackers. Finally you can have those smokes you both loved, while you're talking about the books you've just read, and the politics of the day. I can't think of better company. Thanks for being such a good brother-in-law!

Thank you, Mr. Dunmire for being one of the greatest teachers I've had and for really sparking up the interest in Biology that I have today and that I will pursue in the future. You were such a great mentor and I really looked up to you. You also had one of the best classes and we all loved how fun you made it and how funny and approachable you were. Rest in peace, we will always remember you very fondly in Madrid.

All of my pictures of Karen and Denny are still in storage in Poland or I'd have them all on Facebook! I have so many memories, but one of them is when my son received his acceptance to a very good university in his junior year in Warsaw. We lived close to the school. My husband insisted that we wait to receive the official paper acceptance, and not tell Michael. I nodded in agreement, and as soon as my husband left the house, I ran as fast as my chubby little legs could carry me up to the high school to tell Michael the good news. Never being one for doing anything in moderation, I knew Michael was in Denny's class on the old ASW campus in the classrooms near the old library. I waved as subtly as I could to get Mike's attention to no avail. Finally, Denny went to Michael and said, "Mike, your mother either wants your attention outside, or she's having a seizure. Could you please go throw a bucket of water on her?" He had the greatest, but driest sense of humor in the world. He will be very much, prosze bardzo. Dobranoc Denny Dunmire!
