Greta Amelia Wells
On March 21, 2023, God called his precious child, Greta Amelia Wells, to her heavenly
home. Greta was born March 3, 1936, to the late Milford and Olive Maynard of Lake Placid.
Greta started work at the telephone company, but after a period of time she changed
careers and became a CNA. She dedicated her life to serving others and providing care to them
in their time of need. She worked as a CNA for 50 years at both Lake Placid Hospital and later
on at Uihlein Mercy Center. Her life's passion was helping others and everyone that she crossed
paths with were blessed to have known her.
Other than her parents, Greta was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Clifford
James Wells Sr. Her great-granddaughter Kiersten Alicia Wells. Her brothers Eugene James
Maynard and James Henry Maynard. Her sisters Maris Maynard, Eva Horan, Alberta Andermatt,
Catherine Gonyea, Beverly Manning, and Betty Olney.
Those left to cherish her memory are her son Clifford Wells Jr. (Natalie.) Her three
grandchildren Melissa Holland (William Jr), Caitlin Wells-Conrad (Jason), and Joshua Wells
(Helen.) Her great-grandchildren William Holland III, Olivia Holland, Lauren Holland, Emma
Wells, Calleigh Wells, Alyssa Wells, Sophia Crosen, and Ruby Crosen. Her sister Barbara
Wood. George Smith (Connie Redding) who was like a son to her, and many nieces/nephews
and close friends.
There are no services scheduled at this time. M.B. Clark funeral home in Lake Placid, NY is
