Wayne Barney, 82, passed away quietly at home June 29, 2023. Wayne was born January 29, 1941 the son of Alfred and Maisey (Patterson) Barney. Wayne loved to collect everything, if he had 2 he added 20 more! His biggest love was the game of golf; he played in any weather with anyone he met on the course. A lot of hard work went into his goal of getting back on the course, but it was not meant to be. Wayne was a union finish carpenter by trade, he worked for many years building beautiful homes for Ken Hare Construction in Lake Placid.

Wayne was the last member of the huge Barney family; he was predeceased by his parents Alfred and Maisey; his first wife, Babette (Lacy); Two sons, Andrew and Aaron Barney; his brothers and sisters, Al, Cal, Hoover, Louise, Gene, and Bobbi (Bessie). He was also predeceased by several nephews he loved very much.

Wayne is survived by his wife of 35 years Victoria (Baillargeon); his daughters, Angie and her husband Bret and Melissa; daughter-in-law Merry and several grandchildren and great grandchildren; Lacy, Boe, Sierra and Christopher; Shawn, Kristi, Cody and Gabriell; and Arron and Emily.

Calling hours will be held Wednesday, July 5th from 11:00am to 12:00pm at the Adirondack Community Church, Main Street, Lake Placid, NY. A funeral service will follow at 12:00 Noon. Burial will follow at North Elba Cemetery. Rev. Derek Hansen, Pastor, will officiate.
