Ralph E. Wolfe, 75, of 89 Greenwood Street, Lake Placid, NY, passed away on Saturday, September 2, 2023 at UVM Medical Center, Burlington, Vermont.
He was born on November 28, 1947, in Lake Placid, NY. He was the son of Ralph W. Wolf and Blanche Patnode. He graduated from Lake Placid High School, Class of 1966.
During his lifetime, Ralph was employed at the Lake Placid Club, Olympic Arena, Lake Placid Police Dept., and Caretaker for various camps, he retired in 1996.
Ralph is survived by one sister; Sylvia Wolf of Lake Placid. Ralph was predeceased by one sister, Violet in 2021; and his1st wife, Linda Baker Wolf in 2011.
Ralph had many hobbies and interests. He enjoyed amateur radio (KC2CZW), fishing, hunting, precision marksmanship and music. He was a member of the Lake Placid Fish & Game. But Ralph’s real passion was playing music. His main music interests were: Country; Bluegrass; Gospel; He was a member of 3 bands that played throughout the Adirondacks. If the instrument had strings, he could play it: Acoustic/Electric Guitar, Bass Guitar, Mandolin, Banjo, Uke, Violin, etc.
There are no calling hours. Following cremation, a graveside service and internment will be held on Thursday, Sept. 21, 2023 at 11am at St. Agnes Cemetery, Lake Placid, NY.
