I just found out about Doris yesterday. I am heartbroken. I saw her two years ago just for a moment, and she asked me to stop by. I never did. I decided about a week ago I was going to Placid to see her. Then last night my husband saw the obituary. Why didn’t I go before. Don’t be like me. Doris and Chuck were always nice to me. I remember how upset I was at my brother-in-law PJ Shea’s wake when I was about 19. She was bartending, and She got me drunk on seven&sevens… she just kept telling me I needed more, and I did. She was always fun, funny, giving, caring, loving, and I miss her so much. I have so many good memories that I’d have to write a book. She was the best, and I’ll never forget her. I think she would have forgiven me for not going over, but I’ll never forgive myself. I love you, Dor.

Doris was my very best friend in Lake Placid for the many years I lived there. Our children often played together and we hung out all the time with coffee, kids and her dogs. She supported me through some truly difficult times and I will always remember and be grateful. Pat (Shea) Luke
