In life you meet lots of people but some touch you more than others. Norman was one of those. We spent many happy times together at South Padre Island, Texas. He will be sadly missed!❤️

Norman Joseph LaRoche. My dad...brings many fond memories to his family and truth is, fond memories to all that knew him. A good son, husband, father, brother, friend, but more...a caring and warm hearted man that you could trust. Even if you didn't know him, he extended his caring eyes and smile, a kind greeting and a handshake upon meeting him. You couldn't help but extend the same consideration and respect, it was non-negotiable. He was a man of tremendous loyalty, integrity and honor and expected the same from his family and friends. He was a man of strong family values, traditional and devoted to his family and I mean his extended family whether across town or across the border, all were treated with the same respect, love and pride. He was trusted by all, his word was his promise.
Dad worked very hard in his life, from the farm where he grew up in Champlain, to honorable military service, to his training as a machinist and then many years at Sheridan, followed by Harris Graphics as a service technician. He loved and supported Mom for 55 years of marriage and created a beautiful home for us in Coopersville. His hard work paid off, and he took tremendous pride in his family, his home and his community. Always seeking to help others, his life was marked by helpful words and action. His honorable character and action was an example for my brother and I to follow. His convictions, guidance and love have been a blessing to me my life long and has helped my construct my own family values. He sure loved the river that flows a short distance from here. We had a lot of fun together on it, with the snow mobiles, boats or just swimming and fishing, life on the Great Chazy river has been very fun. But if there was one thing I’ll remember he enjoyed the most it was puttering in the work shop behind the garage! Fixing, constructing, organizing, or crafting things into existence or in good working order, now that was his happy place! He loved spending time with his machinery and shop.
God in Heaven gained an incredible man when he passed through His heavenly gates and I am certain we all gained a guardian angel of protection, advocating service to others, be it friends or strangers. He finally joins his own dearly departed family in heaven but leaves us a strong legacy with which to live. I feel him when the crisp fall wind blows or when it whistles through the branches behind home, I see him in the river ever flowing and in the birds that come to visit us. Trusting in God, we have joined together in prayer for Norman and now we come to farewell, rest in peace dad.
Paul
