Marius John Bechard, 86, of Champlain, NY, passed away unexpectedly on December 13, 2023. Marius was born on December 27, 1936, the son of Homer and Laurette (Lefebvre) Bechard.
In his younger years, he was a dairy and beef farmer, and went on to work as a Border Patrol Agent. In addition, he owned Tools Unlimited while working for New York State Department of Correctional Services where he retired in 1984. He enjoyed traveling, going to car shows and flea markets.
Marius was survived by his wife of thirty-six years, Ann (McGary) Bechard, and mother of his children, Elizabeth (Ladd) Bechard, son, Daniel (Mary) Bechard, daughters, Deborah (Marcel) Poirier, Tammy (Robert) Favro, along with his brother Norman (Kathleen) Bechard. He is also survived by stepchildren, David (Margaret) Sink, Mary (Ian) Jones, Allen Fortier, along with several grandchildren and great grandchildren.
He his predeceased by his parents, sons, Darren and David Bechard, sisters and
brother-in-laws, Sister Germaine Bechard, Alice and Fred Garceau, and
Frances and Leo Major.
Services will be held in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Coopersville, NY, in the Spring. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Daughters of the Charity of the Scared Heart of
Jesus, 226 Grove Street, Littleton, NH 0356.
