Obituary of Jerrod D. LaBombard

Jerrod Daniel LaBombard, 52, passed away on Friday, January 19, 2024 at the UVM Health Network-CVPH surrounded by his loved ones. He battled an aggressive lung cancer for 7 months and is now at peace. Jerrod was born at the same hospital on December 16, 1971, the son of Sandra Kelley LaBombard and Daniel LaBombard. Jerrod graduated from Northeastern Clinton Central School in 1990. After several different career paths in his younger years, Jerrod found his true calling in the restaurant business. He worked for years with his mother, Sandra, at her restaurant, learning her recipes and how to run a business. He then trained at high end restaurants downstate and in Myrtle Beach, SC. In 2012, Jerrod moved back to his hometown of Rouses Point. That same year, he opened his first restaurant, Green Mountain Café in St. Albans, VT and his place was a huge success. So much so, that in 2020, he opened his second restaurant, Apple Lodge Eatery in Chazy, NY. He loved great food and he loved serving his customers great food, taking immense pride in this. He could often be found going table to table asking customers how their meals were and if they needed anything. Jerrod loved his son, Hutch, more than anything, and he treasured all the time they spent together watching NASCAR and football. Jerrod had an incredible sense of humor and he loved to make people laugh, even in his final days. Jerrod was a member of the Lyons Club in Chazy, NY. He will be forever missed. Survivors include his son, Hutchinson, of Champlain, NY, his mother, Sandra, of Rouses Point, NY, his sister, Erin Frisbie and her husband, Andy, his nieces, Katelin, Caroline, and nephew, Connor, all of New Woodstock, NY, along with many aunts, uncles, cousins, and many, many friends. He is preceded in death by his father, Daniel, his grandmothers, Mabel and Electa, and his grandfathers, Clarence and George. Jerrod’s family would like to thank their family and friends for their condolences, kind words, and prayers. We also want to thank CVPH R5 nursing staff, their care was amazing. Thank you also to Champlain/Rouses Point Ambulance service for their great care. Calling hours will be Thursday, January 25, 2024 from 4-7pm at M. B. Clark Funeral Home in Rouses Point, and the funeral Mass on Friday, January 26, 2024 at 11am at St. Patrick’s Church in Rouses Point. Interment will be in St. Patrick’s Cemetery in the spring. Family and friends are invited to a luncheon reception following Mass in St. Patrick’s Church hall. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made directly to the American Cancer Society Hope Lodge in NYC.
