Alice taught me, my aunt BJ, and my cousin Harold. She was one of the best teachers in my life. I remember helping in Harold's classroom and it brought me right back to being with her in kindergarten again. The warmth and love from her to all her students made going to school special. She was a wonderful woman and she will always be in my heart.

She was my kindergarten teacher in 1978 at Lake Placid Elementary school. I have found memories of her class even at the age of 5. She was supportive, and held me as the last student before summer break to make sure I could recite my phone number. I still remember it today! I believe she is one of the many teachers that influenced me in a positive way to become a teacher too. She was a great woman and I hold her memory in my heart today as a professional. Susan Riedl

I had Mrs. Wood as my kindergarten teacher. She was one of my favorite teachers. I was in the last class she taught. When she announced to us she was retiring I cried thinking she wasn't going to finish the year and I was losing a great teacher. I looked up to her even after she retired. I would see her around town when she was visiting and she would stop and talk to me and make sure I was still doing good in school. She truly cared about her students. And all of students that I know of truly loved her as a teacher and looked up to her and respected her. She had a beautiful smile on her face when working with her students. She was an inspiration.

I was over the moon to see my kindergarten teacher so many years later. She left such a lasting impression that it made me fee like that little girl again when she hugged me. I only wish my children had the opportunity to have her for a teacher. Mrs. Wood thank you for all you did for so many.
