Gary Ward, 76, of Fine, NY was born on December 18, 1947 in Gouverneur, NY. He took his last breath on November 28, 2024 at Elderwood of Uihlein at Lake Placid in Lake Placid, NY. Gary was a Combat Engineer in the U.S. Army from 1967 to 1969. He was a Veteran of the Vietnam War and was also stationed in Korea. He married Kimberly McCarty in 1970 and they got remarried in 2016. They adopted a son in 1977 and had a daughter in 1983. Gary loved to spend time at camp hunting, fishing, spending time with his grandchildren, watching sports, and playing games and cards with his family. He is survived by his wife Kimberly Ward of Eagle Bay, NY; one daughter, Shana Roach and her husband Robert of Eagle Bay, NY; one son, Gary Ward, of Booneville, NY; two grandchildren, Jordan and Destiny of Eagle Bay, NY; his sister-in-law, Janet, and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Gary is also survived by his close friends James and Jenna Todd and their family of Oswegatchie, NY. He was predeceased by his parents Helen and Duthan (Dutch) Ward, two brothers Jim and Dick and a sister, Sandy, as well as his sister-in-law Barb. Per his wishes, there will not be a funeral or calling hours. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or the American Cancer Society.
