I have many fond memories related to Luke but one sticks out the most. One evening Luke and I decided to have a party of two. We each bought a bottle of Jack Daniels and went to my place in Sherwood Forest. We had the most intense conversation that evening mostly about the current political climate in the US and of course the New York Yankees. I got to know my friend that evening and although our paths haven't crossed in over 40 years I remember him as though it was only yesterday. Luke...thanks for the smiles, the laughs, and for accepting me for who I am without question. Rest in peace my friend

I met Luke in Austin Texas in the spring of 1976, I was passing through and looked up a Saranac Lake person who invited me to the house he was sharing a house with people from SL and LP including Luke. They offered me the couch, recruited me for a restaurant job, and for a short time I lived and worked and enjoyed Austin, then the new headquarters of country music, the outdoors, and this group of fun loving people. i got to know Luke, a guy from 9 miles away I met 1800 miles from home.

Luke is one of the most amazing people I have met in Lake Placid. I will never forget one thing he said to me one evening while hanging at the Arena Grill. Luke was talking about some girls and referring to them as "chicks" and I told him I was offended. He turned to me and said "You are not a chick you are one of the guys." Best compliment I have ever received. Miss you.

Dear Luke- I have so many memories of you over the years, but strangely what always comes to mind is the way you used to "scold" me for running around barefoot when I was a kid. I could be at the tennis courts or up on Main Street, or climbing the monkey bars at the school campus and suddenly I would hear this voice from out of the blue..."Where are your shoes?!" and then you would wave a finger at me as if I was REALLY BIG trouble...
I would say Rest In Peace, but knowing you, rest isn't part of your flight plan. You are probably already planning your next big adventure on the other side! May the rest of your journey never cease to amaze you!

The world was a little more exciting with you in it. You always made me laugh with your witty comebacks and unique observations. I'll miss you always and I'm sure I'll see you on the flip side. Amstel light please.
