Miss Chambers was my 6th grade teacher in about 1953. She was very pleasant despite the fact that she had at least 40 of us that year. This may explain her career choice. The picture looks just like I remember her.
We had the privilege of knowing Sister Eileen when she taught 6th grade at the Cape Vincent Central School in Cape Vincent, NY. My husband had her as his teacher in 1953 and I in 1955. It sounds like she had a wonderful life after leaving the public school. Our deepest sympathy to her family.
My sincerest sympathies Bill and Gerald... and the Sisters of Mercy Community. Sr. Eileen was such an icon to our community of Brasher Falls growing up. Sending prayers to all during this sad time and great loss.
