Obituary of Eileen Marie Chambers

Sr. Eileen Marie Chambers, R.S.M., age 84, of Lake Placid died Wednesday, October 22, 2014 at Uihlein Living Center in Lake Placid, NY. Sister was born March 27, 1930 in Winthrop, NY the daughter of Paul and O. Erma (Partlov) Chambers. She graduated from East Stockholm Elementary School and St. Joseph Academy High School. Sister received a Bachelors Degree in Education from Potsdam State Teachers College and a Masters Degree in Guidance from Plattsburgh State University. She entered into the Sisters of Mercy in 1955 and after profession, she began her teaching career which spanned over 45 years. Sister taught in the Diocese of Ogdensburg, the Archdiocese of New York and in New Jersey. Sister is survived by two brothers and their wives, Gerald and Donna Chambers, Bill and Glenda Chambers and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by four brothers, Robert, Bernard, Paul and Daniel. Calling Hours will be held Friday, October 24th from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM with a prayer service at 8:00 PM at the Reiss Memorial Chapel in Uihlein Living Center, 185 Old Military Rd., Lake Placid, NY. The Mass of the Resurrection will be held Saturday, October 25th at 11:00 AM at the Reiss Memorial Chapel in Uihlein Living Center. Father Alan Shnob will officiate. Burial will follow at St. Patrick's Cemetery in Brasher Falls, NY. The M. B. Clark, Inc., Funeral Home in Lake Placid, NY is in charge of arrangements.
