Obituary of Mona Dixon

Mona Stevens Dixon died April 7, 2015 after a lengthy illness. Mona was born October 18, 1953 at Placid Memorial Hospital to John F. and Therese Kendrick Dixon.
She attended Lake Placid Central School graduating in 1972 and earned her Masters Degree in elementary education from SUNY Plattsburgh . She taught at Lake Placid Elementary School for 26 years and touched the lives of many children during her career.
Mona is survived by her siblings Mary Pat Baker (Mike), Suzanne Dixon, Amy Beaney (Phil) and John Dixon, as well as her nieces and nephews Erica Heidt, John Bickford, Danny Baker, Megan Baker and Sarah Clare Dixon and her great niece Lillian Therese Heidt and great nephew Reid Michael Heidt.
She was predeceased by her parents, John F. Dixon and Therese Kendrick Patnode, and her sister Sarah.
Calling hours will be held Friday April 10 from 4PM to7 PM at the M. B. Clark, Inc. Funeral Home in Lake Placid, NY.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 9:00 am on Saturday, April 11th, at Saint Agnes Catholic Church, Saranac Ave., Lake Placid, NY with Father John Yonkovig officiating. Burial will be in St. Agnes Cemetery at a later date
In lieu of flowers, donations in Mona's memory may be made to the Lake Placid Vol. Ambulance Service, Tri-Lakes Humane Society or High Peaks Hospice.
