Obituary of Hilda M Wrye

CHAMPLAIN Hilda Mary (LaValley) Wrye was born in Champlain, NY on March 9, 1925. In the few short days leading to and during her departure, she was surrounded by her loving family. She departed and went to be with our Lord on July 24, 2015. She was predeceased by her cherished husband, William E. Wrye, Sr. who died on September 30, 2007. She was also predeceased by her parents John L. and Grace (Goodrow) LaValley, sisters Louise Paulson and Dorothy Mooso, great-grandsons Christopher Kellas and Ethan Wrye, and great-granddaughter Beth Wrye. Hilda graduated from St. Mary’s Academy in Champlain in the early 1940’s and attended Nursing School at the old Champlain Valley Hospital in Plattsburgh, NY. She was a devout Christian and a member of St. Mary’s Parish in Champlain, NY. Hilda was a wonderful homemaker and a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. One of her greatest pleasures was to hold and care for newborn children, especially her grand-children and great grand-children. Her humble home was always open and welcome to all of her family and it pleased her very much each time they would visit. She is survived by her children John Kellas and his fiancé Fe of Pensacola, FL, Morton (Beverly) Kellas of Chazy, NY, Mary Lafountain of Champlain, NY, William (Alice) Wrye, Jr. of Mooers Forks, NY, Jeffrey (Arlene) Wrye of Mooers, NY and Clifford Wrye of Rouses Point, NY. She also leaves behind 16 grandchildren - Michael, Michelle, Kimberly, Christa, Tracey, Rusty, William, David, Dustin, Rachelle, Alexis, Zacherie, Austin, Parker, Kathleen and Tammy; 23 great grandchildren –Trish, Andrew, Loren, Haley, Sarah, Ian, Emily, Audrey, Brenden, Melany, Sara, Aiden, Jace, Isabella, Natalie, Scott, Maria, Tess, Ayden, Evan, Garrett, Sophie and Abby. Calling hours are at the M.B. Clark Funeral Home in Champlain, NY on Tuesday, July 28, 2015 from 5:00 to 8:00 pm. A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Wednesday morning at 11:00 am at St. Mary’s Church in Champlain, NY with Rev. Clyde A. Lewis celebrating the Mass.
