Dear Mark Adler: You may remember me from the Mon Amour when I ran it with my family after my mother's death in the early 1980's. I think I met you when you came over to assess my property with Robi Politi. I was a great friend of Chris Hovey and Jeff Madden and was an Official Olympic Hostess at Mt. Van Hoevenberg, wearing the red coats and hats! I visited the Swiss Shop so many times for the finer clothing that your Mom had in the store. I had many pleasant talks with your Mom in the Swiss Shop- she held a beautiful sweater for me overnight until I came back the next day and won my heart! She told me how proud she was of you ant that you were going to McGill. After that I bought everything I needed from her! People would ask me 'where did you get that?" and I would say, 'The Swiss Shop of course, go see Mrs. Adler!".
Please accept my sincere condolences to you and your family. I have only wonderful memories of your Mom and beautiful Lake Placid where I lived for10 blessed years.
Cordially,
Victoria (Tory) Kelly

Dear Adler family,
We are so sorry to hear of your loss.
Your Mom was a beautiful and sweet LADY, in every sense of the word. It was a joy to see her every time that we did. She always gave you a lovely smile and a word to go with it.
We're certain that all of you are going to miss her terribly.
Sincerely,
John and Heather Dreissigacker

I enjoyed many hours of visiting with Irene as a Mercy Care volunteer. It was so interesting and admirable learning of the path through life that she and Bernie took. She was a very special lady who will be missed.

I remember my first freezing cold day in Lake Placid. I had rented an apartment from the Adlers, over the Swiss Shop and was out walking my dog near the shop, wearing just a peacoat. The Adlers must have noticed my turning blue and called me into the store. Mr. Adler said I would freeze to death and that I should have the sheepskin coat that's in the window. I had admired the coat but it was well beyond my means at the time. He put the coat on me and said, " Pay for it when you can." Such kindness from such a lovely couple. I did pay for the coat and I never forgot that freezing day. I will never forget Mr. and Mrs. Adler. Goodbye dear, beautiful lady.
